Mendy Steiner, Brooklyn Real Estate Investor Found Dead in NYC Hotel
A well known, Jewish, real estate investor who doubled as a top philanthropist, Mendel ‘Mendy’ Steiner, has reportedly died of suicide.
Steiner was found dead from a gunshot, which is likely
self-inflicted, in a room at the super expensive Aman Hotel in New York.
The deceased, 32, was a Hasidic real estate investor from
New York. He not only was a top legal mind but also a philanthropist who has
been praised for donating to numerous mosdos, kehillos, institutions, and sepecial
caused.
News of a man taking their own life in a plush New York City
Hotel room was reported
by the Post on Friday. Police were called to a room at the luxury
Aman New York on West 57th Street and Fifth Avenue around 1:45 p.m. on
Thursday, January 8th.
According to the Post, the deceased was found to have
fatally shot himself in the head. EMS declared him deceased on the spot.
“This afternoon, emergency services were called and
responded to an incident in a room involving a guest. We are fully cooperating
with emergency responders and will not comment further,” a spokesperson for the
hotel told The Post.
Authorities did not formally identify the victim, but subsequent
online posts named him.
“Mendy Steiner, a Hasidic real estate investor from New
York, was found dead in a New York hotel room…His death is currently under
investigation,” the Real Jew said on X.
A Levaye was held Thursday night at Shomre Hadas. Kevurah is scheduled Friday night at Har Shulem in Airmont.
Mendy leaves behind his wife, Dini Steiner. Despite much
public interest, there are no available, verifiable figures in regards to his
net worth.
