Gaby Castillo, arrested on gang-related drug and fraud charges
Clearly, not everything online reflects reality.
Especially for influencer Gaby Castillo, 26, who was arrested
for being a suspected member of the Union Tepito gang.
But you wouldn’t have known just by looking at her online
content, which features her gym selfies and bikini-clad snaps.
Pink-haired Castillo, who boasts 763,000 Instagram
followers, was arrested on drug offenses and fraud associated with purchasing
luxury cars, per Spanish news outlet El Universal.
The reality star, who was in the process of launching a
singing career under the name Briela Sanz, was apprehended — while traveling in
style in a luxury, black pickup truck in possession of 1 million Mexican pesos
(nearly $49,000) — in Mexico City on Monday.
She was accompanied by Jose Hareff Soto Jimenez, 35, whose
Los Soto family is suspected of stealing and reselling luxury cars.
And to make matters worse, the police also discovered
hundreds of packages containing drugs that they suspect to be cocaine and
marijuana — as well as a firearm — in the vehicle, which was purchased with a
fake check in December.
In addition to the other offenses, Castillo is being
investigated for taking compromising photos of clients used to blackmail them
for money.
She has also been romantically linked to the supposed head
of Union Tepito, Oscar Andres Flores Ramirez (also known as El Lunares), who is
currently in prison for murder, organized crime and selling drugs, racking up a
20-year sentence.
The investigation is ongoing.
