Turkish hackers attack Serbian government website

A Turkish hacker group called Akincilar has attacked the Serbian finance ministry’s public debt department website, blocking access to the website and posting a photograph of a hall full of coffins, with a caption reading “8272”, which is the number of victims killed in Srebrenica and the word “unutmadik” – “we haven’t forgotten” in Turkish.

The ministry has regained control of the website from Akincilar, a Turkish group of hackers known to the authorities, as they have been attacking different websites for years.

Their targets in the past include the Greek government websites such as the foreign ministry’s and army’s websites, but also Honda’s website in Greece.

The group also hacked the website of France’s Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine for printing cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed in addition to attacking American, Israeli, Greek and Kurdish websites.

The group supports Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
