Orit Oged, Israeli woman arrested in Montana for suspected double homicide
An Israeli woman was arrested last week in Montana for suspected involvement in a double homicide in California.
Orit Oged, 32, was arrested in Missoula, Montana, on March
25, according to California law enforcement.
She is suspected of murdering William and Yesenia Larsen, a
husband and wife from Burbank, California. A snowplow driver found their bodies
on the shoulder of a remote Eastern Sierra highway in November 2020.
The victims had no known connection to the area and the suspicious
deaths were investigated as a double homicide. The cause of death has not been
made public and it’s unclear whether the couple died on the highway or their
bodies were dumped there.
Montana residents Bradley Kohorst, 35, and Cory Spurlock,
33, were also arrested for suspected involvement in the killing. Kohorst was
arrested in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 22, and Oged and Spurlock were both
nabbed in Missoula days later.
Investigators believe the suspected killers had business
ties to the deceased, according to California’s Mono County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement statements did not divulge the evidence that linked the
suspects to the crime.
The suspects were arraigned on charges of murder and
conspiracy to commit a crime.
While carrying out the arrests, law enforcement found
several firearms, ammunition and cash, the California Department of Justice
said.
The suspects are awaiting extradition to California.
Oged is originally from the town of Ramot in northern
Israel, according to the Kan public broadcaster.
