Raimbek Matraimov detained for money laundering by National Security Committee
Former Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service Raimbek Matraimov was detained, the National Security Committee said in the evening of February 18.
Matraimov was detained today as part of a criminal probe
into the legalization (laundering) of criminal proceeds.
Within 2 days, the court should decide on the form of arrest
against Matraimov for a period of investigation, the statement said.
On February 11, the Pervomai district court of Bishkek found
guilty Matraimov of corruption and fined him for 260,000 soms and removed
arrest from his properties after he plea-bargained with the investigation.
