HSBC names new heads to Southeast Asia private banking teams
HSBC has appointed Ken Ng as market head for Singapore,
private banking, and Gary Goh as market head for Malaysia, private banking, to
support the bank’s campaign to become the leading wealth manager in Asia and
deliver on its growth agenda.
Ng has been with HSBC since 1995 and joined HSBC private
banking in 2014. In his previous role as desk head, he led his team to achieve
substantial growth over the last three consecutive years. He has 25 years of
experience in financial services across wealth management, corporate banking,
and risk.
Goh, who joined HSBC in 2019 from an international bank
where he was most recently market head of South and Southeast Asia, has 23
years of experience in financial markets, including originating strategic opportunities,
private financing and providing product solutions to private banking clients.
Both will report to Philip Kunz, HSBC’s head of global
private banking, Southeast Asia. “Southeast Asia is home to some of the
fastest-growing economies spurring a next generation of wealthy entrepreneurs,”
Kunz says. “Singapore and Malaysia sit at the nexus as many entrepreneurs look
to expand regionally.
I am confident that with the leadership, expertise and
experience of Ken and Gary, we will provide a distinctive experience to meet
our clients’ private wealth needs and accelerate progress in our strategy.”
