Why hasn't Ghislaine Maxwell been arrested?

Serial sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein has been dead for almost a year but still no charges have been brought against his alleged “pimp” and “procurer,” Ghislaine Maxwell.

The 58-year-old socialite remains at large and so far has not been questioned even though she allegedly knew the intimate details of Epstein’s vile machinations.

Epstein died in his New York jail cell last August under mysterious circumstances.

Now, lawyers for his alleged victims fear that Maxwell will wiggle out of having to face the music because of her powerful connections.

Maxwell — believed to be hiding with friends in southern France — remains a co-defendant in a slew of civil cases brought by Epstein’s sex-trafficking victims.

Now, the pal of Prince Andrew is using the criminal probe to thwart the civil action against her.

Several women claim Maxwell was far from an innocent in the alleged sexual abuse of scores of underage girls: She was also a participant.

Annie Farmer says she was lured to Epstein’s New Mexico ranch as a teen and was sexually abused by the high-flying pair.

“Maxwell touched intimate parts of Annie’s body against her will for the sexual benefit of Maxwell and Epstein,” one lawsuit states. “Maxwell exposed Annie’s breasts and groped her.”

She was also allegedly forced by Maxwell to undress in front of Epstein. Now, her lawyer is seeking to depose Maxwell and have her respond to questions in writing.

Recently, a New York judge gave Maxwell a pass on being questioned because of the ongoing criminal probe.

Farmer’s lawyer said Maxwell is using the criminal probe to shield herself against the civil suits.

“Maxwell has provided no information about the subject matter of the criminal investigation into Epstein’s co-conspirators, the status of the investigation, or even disclosed whether she herself is a target of the Southern District’s investigation,” David Boies wrote.

He added: “When plaintiff’s counsel asked Maxwell’s counsel for information about the criminal investigation during their meet and confer, Maxwell’s counsel refused to provide any details.”
