Schneider lined up for seat on Russian oligarch company
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy,
Etienne Schneider, is a candidate to take a post on the board of directors for
the Russian conglomerate.
Schneider could succeed Jeannot Krecké in the role, after
resigning from his government position in February. At the time, speculation
was rife that Schneider would find a seat on the ArcelorMittal board, after he
chose to leave politics to "regain" his life.
This week, Paperjam and Radio 100.7 reported that Sistema
could become Schneider's next destination, which the former LSAP minister then
confirmed to RTL.
Sistema's next general meeting will take place on 27 June.
The group invests in various sectors such as high technology, agriculture and
finance.
