CIS wins strategic catering and mine services contract at remote underground gold mine in Kazakhstan
Citing a strong positioning with an uninterrupted presence
for almost 30 years in Kazakhstan, Marseille-headquartered CIS Integrated Life
Support Services has just won, as part of an international tender, a strategic
contract with an unnamed major Russian player in the mining sector.
The contract involves an underground gold mine in the
northeast of the country. From June 1, 2020, the Kazakh subsidiary of CIS, CAC,
will provide catering and accommodation services for the 500 residents of the
remote site, as well as multi-technical maintenance of all camp facilities for
a period of 5 years.
“The historic presence of CIS in Kazakhstan, experience
acquired and our broad positioning in this very large country also contributed
to this success. The proper execution of this contract should enable CIS to
support this group on other mining projects carried out in other countries.
This new contract confirms the relevance of CIS’ strategic plan, one of the
objectives of which is to strengthen its development with major global mining
operators.”
CIS client experience past and present in mining covers some
big names and includes Resolute Mining, Rio Tinto, Vale, Barrick, MMG,
Glencore, KAZ Minerals, BHP Billiton and Polymetal.
