Afzal Khan facing 100 years in jail at US fraud trial

A Scots fugitive posted a series of rambling videos on social media mocking the FBI for not arresting him while on the run.

Afzal Khan, 37, of Edinburgh, was last week flown back to the US from the United Arab Emirates to stand trial for an alleged luxury car fraud.

He fled America five years ago with his family after being accused of a £1.3million scam from his car firm in New Jersey.

He posted videos on Instagram complaining that the US authorities had not negotiated a deal for him to surrender.

Khan – known as Bobby – posted a clip of himself in a long wig saying: “They here yet? Going to arrest me? No? Pig vomit, I’m still waiting to get arrested. I grew hair. By the time they get to me I might be dead.”

Khan also filmed himself apparently calling the White House.

He added the caption: “Riddle me this, Batman... how many FBI agents does it take to arrest a ‘most wanted’ fugitive????”

Khan has been charged with five counts of wire fraud and faces up to 100 years in jail.
